“Man, that was a fun race.” “That one was tough!” — the kind of conversations you hear on the drive home after a great weekend in the desert with family and friends. That’s what it’s all about.
What many don’t see is the work behind the scenes. While racers spend 2–5 hours on the course, putting on a desert race is a year-round effort—permits, course mapping, setup, teardown, results, and coordination with organizations like the BLM.
Volunteers are always appreciated on race day, but it takes committed club members to truly keep events alive. Without new people stepping in, learning the process, and helping carry the load, the sport risks burnout and losing the knowledge needed to keep races going.
We encourage everyone to join a club and get involved, even for just a couple of years. It’s the best way to understand what it takes—and to help keep desert racing strong for the next generation.
As a member of the club we want you to be involved in the club and events we are involved in. We will hold up to 7 club meetings a year, we want everyone that joins and becomes a member to show up to at minimum 3 meetings a year.
We strongly encourage you all to get an AMA membership, yes it is another thing to pay for but its apart of racing this helps us show to the AMA that we have a strong backing to support what we love most riding our dirt bikes
